Take a step back into the golden age of motoring with this vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear 1927 Talbot Delivery Van, finished in the classic Chocolat Menier advertising livery. With its rich blue body, black roof and running boards, bright silver wheels and traditional styling, this model has the sort of character that makes vintage diecast vehicles so enjoyable to collect.
The first thing that catches the eye is the yellow Chocolat Menier lettering displayed across the sides, complete with its distinctive diamond emblem. The advertising design gives the van an authentic period look, bringing to mind the delivery vehicles that would once have carried goods through busy streets and small towns. The combination of blue paintwork and yellow lettering stands out beautifully against the black roof, chassis and fenders.
There is plenty to appreciate beyond the colour scheme. The model features a tall, upright front grille, round headlights, detailed wheels and a traditional enclosed delivery body. The rear doors add another interesting feature, while the carefully moulded exterior details help recreate the practical design of an early commercial van. Its compact proportions and vintage appearance make it an appealing display piece from every angle.
This van belongs to Matchbox’s much-loved Models of Yesteryear series and represents the 1927 Talbot Van casting, identified by the Y-5 reference. The Chocolat Menier version is a particularly recognisable variation within the range, making it a lovely choice for collectors who enjoy vintage advertising models, classic commercial vehicles and older Matchbox releases.
Whether you collect Matchbox models, build a display of historic delivery vehicles or simply appreciate miniature cars with a story behind their design, this Talbot van is a charming addition to a collection. It looks right at home on a collector’s shelf, alongside other Models of Yesteryear vehicles or within a display dedicated to vintage motoring and advertising memorabilia.
A characterful piece of diecast history, this blue Chocolat Menier Talbot van combines nostalgic styling, distinctive period graphics and classic Matchbox appeal in one memorable miniature.
